If the people who knew me well compared me to an ad slogan, it would probably be "takes a lickin' and keeps on tickin'"
The last few weeks have been no exception.
I'm still thankful though. Thankful that I have the close friends who stand not only by, but up for me.
Thankful that I'm able to see the humor in the dark situations.
Thankful that, despite all the wrong I've done or encountered, there are people (and you know who you are) that love me. Unconditionally and without judgement.
In a few short minutes, I'm meeting my dad at the train station for another Griswold thanksgiving. I'm thankful for that too.
I wish you all the best Thanksgiving.

More yang for my ying...
So - Internet is working... Internet Explorer, however, still crashes (cue the comment about getting a Mac and avoiding these problems)...
About 15 mins after I posted about my Internet, I developed a runny nose... which escalated in about 2 hours to a full blown cold. I've been under a blanket and on cold meds since 5 pm last night.
What a weekend - worked until 8:45ish on Friday night, then spent Saturday am working, then fixing my computer, now sick...
Oh, and anyone seeking a Mr. Feb update... guess what? I'm seeking one too... actually, scratch that. I swear to you, final straw.
Things are pretty bad at the moment... so could use those good vibes.
I really do wish I was in Jersey right now.

God Bless India...
After weeks of no Internet, 3 hours of Linksys/Comcast tech support and $130 to the computer store... I'm back!
Many thanks to the kind Indian man who spent 1 hour and 25 mins on the phone with me to restore my router...
Finally no blogging from my Blackberry.
One fire out, many more to go. I really wish I was in Jersey right now.

My bath with toaster day
The day I'm having:
1. Mr.February continues his disappearing boy act. Didn't I already date a magician? That one didn't end well either.
2. Have major overload at work causing us to do double the work with half the staff. More than likely, forcing me to work this weekend.
3. The computer store who I called to fix my computer and swore I didn't need an appointment closing early before I left work an hour early to get there.
And the piece de resistance?
4. My favorite DC hangout - my pool hall is closing. No longer can I walk down the stairs to see my bartender pouring a pitcher and getting a table ready. No more crazy drunken stories about the bad jukebox, Dee's drunkin Bon Jovi singing and getting flagged after one drink. The first place I ran to when I quit my 18 day stint at sobriety. Poof - all gone.
I haz a sad.

super power
Is when someone can turn one of the worst days ever into one of the best. Just by showing up and making me laugh.
Falling hard, readers. Hard.

wow
I actually am crying.
For the record, Schmeffy said the concession speech would be made at 11:18. To the minute, he was right. Way to go!!
DC is madness right now. Amazing.like new years. Screaming beeping hugging.

Cautiously Optimistic
We're not official, but am growing more hopeful. What numbers matter most? Hearing 80 percent voter turnout in states like Virginia. Proud of our country today. No matter who wins the Presidency, we all won by reclaiming the vote.
Haven't felt this proud since I watched the humanity that unfolded in NYC on 9/11. I hope that whatever change comes our way, that we can finally build off the positive momentum and finally come together and heal as a country.
And for the record, no I haven't been drinking. I'm vegging on my couch freezing. In fact, I'm supposed to be at a party but worked way too late. I just get truly emotional when it comes to possibility of progress and positivity. I love this city for that reason - people passionate enough to fight for what they believe is right. Its inspirational and energizing.

Ms G goes to washington
More live bloggin. Despite the continued wait, it did just hit me that here I am in our Nation's capital executing my right to create change. Pretty f'in cool. Another Capraesque moment in this city that stole my heart.
And, finally I touched my screen and entered my ballot.
If only everyone cared this much about our country everday. Think what we could accomplish.
Here's to making a difference.

Go Vote!!
They were not joking about th line, but my readers, do not let that deter you! Republicat or Democan,go vote!! None of my Mr. February updates are nearly as important then you getting your bums to the polls!
Ok- since I'm stuck in line and live bloggin, maybe one update. Last nite, Mr. Feb and Former Roomie came over to watch a film. Despite FR's eclectic convo choices, Mr. Feb had a good time. :).
Life is swell at the moment. As I said before, change is imminent.
