Dream a little dream

Hello readers!

Hopefully you're not melted from this god awful nonexistent climate change. Not much to do outside in this, so I continued my ongoing refresh of Casa de G.

I moved art, lamps, furniture! Solved my attic fears by figuring a way to store my tree elsewhere.

But, the piece I'm most proud of is solving my dilemma of wanting coffee but not wanting to wake my Holly girl.

Presto…I have a Nespresso machine that doesn't get enough use.

And just like that, my bedroom has a barista.

It may be sad, but this is a dream of mine. Only one person has ever brought me coffee in bed. (Hint: it wasn't a husband and is still a very happy memory for me.)

Yay, slay!

It’s not Rocky, but it’s close

Nick Sirianni's message to the Philadelphia Eagles at the start of OTAs:

"First I want to say, the celebration is over. OK? The celebration is over, preparation is here. Celebration is over, preparation is here. As we continued through here last year, as we came into the 2024 season there was a lot that we talked about of handling adversity. Now, it's a little different. You have to handle success, Right? It's a different animal. Right? You've got to handle success. Everyone right now, for the guys that have been here, are telling you how good you are. Treat praise like perfume. Sniff it, don't drink it. It's poison."

The perfect message. 🔥

Didn’t know this wasn’t the norm.

You're welcome friends.

PS…

Actual conversation between me and my boss over lunch:

Boss: Do you have family over in Italy?
Me: *hmm* I'm not sure. My cousin Vinny would know.
Boss: *blinks hard*
Me: Yes, I have a cousin Vinny.
Boss: I love that.

Cap that off with me calling him out later on a perfectly timed quote from The Breakfast Club…and that sums up my happiness.

Happy Friday Eve!

Whew, another insane week! Been running and almost on empty - birthdays, work, doc appointments, babysitting my godson, meeting my boss for lunch, and of course, clients with emergencies.

After a midnight end, I doubted my ability to get through today. I have learned that lack of sleep messes with me. But, I made it!

My sister has been concerned about my hours…anytime this job gets crazy she thinks it's like my past ones. I get it, but how many past bosses have sat me down and said "if you want to travel to Italy next year, you need to go and make it happen." Hell, I got called in Hawaii during my first honeymoon to be told I would land in DC and take a flight to Chicago that night. Thank god for snow, so I got a break.

Last week, my beloved longtime therapist suggested maybe we don't need to talk weekly like we've done for 12 years…apparently, it's taken just a few decades to hit my stride.

It's Days Like These...

Me: I'm on the phone with a prominent oncologist who heads the bone marrow and cell therapy division of a major Philly hospital, talking about an urgent TV interview for my client

I answer a call from my parents... who, 5 1/2 minutes later, are still on the phone with me, talking about having ice cream yesterday.

"And, then I had the almond joy ice cream… There were so many nuts!"… Um, I really do have to go. "Oh… you're just SO busy"… *sigh*

It's days like these that I thank God I wasn't a surgeon because they'd be doing the same thing.

Don't ever change, Mom and Dad...

Smooches,
G

In wild news…

I was contacted by a small publishing house this week with an offer to write my story. They wanna give me a free first chapter based on my LinkedIn long-term readers will know that this has been a lifelong dream of mine. I have no idea what the cost is, but seems like the universe is telling me to move forth meanwhile a few friends that I've told so far are all figuring out who's going to play them in the movie version
