Yes, the dudes have gotten progressively younger but oh well.

Louder for the boys in the back...

"The commonest form, one of the most often neglected, and the safest opportunity for the average man to seize, is hard work."

- Arthur Brisbane

Unrelated, I realized that I glossed over my urgent care trip, which led to my fun new PT experience. Basically, I woke up old, limping, and with a swollen leg. Despite walking an hour a day, it turns out my hip needed to be popped into place, and I do a bunch of strengthening exercises for 45 minutes every other day. Super exciting, but according to orthopedics - my knees look great, so I guess it could've been worse!

Let's Keep Dancing...

I can't get this song out of my head today:
I remember when I was a little girl, our house caught on fire I'll never forget the look on my father's face as he gathered me up in his arms And raced through the burning building, out to the pavement And I stood there, shivering in my pajamas And watched the whole world go up in flames And when it was all over I said to myself, "Is that all there is to a fire?" Is that all there is?
Is that all there is? If that's all there is, my friends, then let's keep dancing Let's break out the booze and have a ball If that's all there is
And when I was 12 years old, my daddy took me to the circus The greatest show on earth There were clowns and elephants, dancing bears And a beautiful lady in pink tights flew high above our heads
And as I sat there watching I had the feeling that something was missing I don't know what, but when it was all over I said to myself, "Is that all there is to the circus?" Is that all there is?
Is that all there is? If that's all there is, my friends, then let's keep dancing Let's break out the booze and have a ball If that's all there is
And then I fell in love with the most wonderful boy in the world We take long walks down by the river Or just sit for hours, gazing into each other's eyes We were so very much in love
And then one day, he went away And I thought I'd die, but I didn't And when I didn't I said to myself, "Is that all there is to love?"
Is that all there is? Is that all there is? If that's all there is, my friends, then let's keep
I know what you must be saying to yourselves "If that's the way she feels about it, why doesn't she just end it all?" Oh, no, not me I'm not ready for that final disappointment
'Cause I know, just as well as I'm standing here talking to you And when that final moment comes, and I'm breathing my last breath I'll be saying to myself
"Is that all there is? Is that all there is? If that's all there is, my friends, then let's keep dancing Let's break out the booze and have a ball If that's all there is"

The One Where I didn’t call 911

It has been a very long day. Driving home from the shore with Holly, something with my car felt off. I darted to the shoulder and pulled into a parking lot to find my tire flat. And not like “fix o flat” flat like deflated like my love life flat. Since my family was all still down the shore, this was an unpleasant experience. I tried my tire inflator thing, but even I knew that 10psi wasn’t going to get me home. Now, for longtime readers or even longer friends, you may recall that when I first started driving, I got a flat. I wasn’t supposed to be out, so, I called 911 for help. Suffice it to say, 1) I learned that they don’t appreciate that and 2) if you beg hard enough, a nice cop will eventually acquiesce and change your tire. Thankfully, I called my Zip Husband, who now has rescued me twice - one with a dead battery. So grateful to him for always being there and willing to help. Also thankful that when he asked “do you want to watch and learn how to do this?” That his wife said “um, no, we’re girls.”
